College of Nursing, RIMS, Imphal

The Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), Imphal was established in the year 1972. It is an Institution of regional importance catering to the needs of the North Eastern Region in the field of medical education by providing undergraduate and post graduate courses, bringing together in one place the educational facilities for training of health personnel in all important branches of medical specialities, Dental and Nursing education. The Institute is affiliated to the Manipur University, Canchipur.

The Foundation Stone of the College of Nursing RIMS, Imphal was laid by Shri Ambumani Ramadoss, Union Minister of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India in the year 2008. The College of Nursing, RIMS, Imphal started B.Sc. Nursing Course in December, 2009 with an intake capacity of 50 students and 8 students from Jammu & Kashmir under supernumerary quota since 2021 under PMSSS. M.Sc. Nursing Course was started with an intake capacity of 8 students since 2019 and 2(two) seats of M.Sc. Nursing course are also increased from the academic session 2022-2023. The College is recognized by the Indian Nursing Council (INC), New Delhl and Manipur Nursing Council (MNC), Lamphelpat, Imphal for both B.Sc. & M.Sc. Nursing Courses and is affiliated to Manipur University, Canchipur, Imphal.

The College of Nursing, RIMS was established to impart nursing education to individuals who will be professionally competent, ethically sound with knowledge & skills and attitudes necessary to deliver holistic health care in all settings and also to participate in educating professional nurses. We are committed to provide excellence in Nursing education, research and health care for the benefit of humanity.
